Little Bird Sideboard

This was a lovely customer commission. To update their own sideboard with one of my Image Transfers. She chose Little Teapot from the Fusion Mineral Paint Tones For Tots Range. A lovely bright light blue. Inside was going to be Buttermilk Cream with a bird transfer on one of the doors. First the prep. This has wax all over it .... you can tell by sanding a little. If dust comes off easily you have no wax, if you sand and there is little or no dust and clogs of grime on the sandpaper you know you have wax. You can remove it using white spirit and wire wool or Colron Wax remover... just apply the remover with wire wool....

edding Porcelain brushpens project

I had so much fun doing this little project. I was asked to use the wonderful edding porceleain brushpens which easily add permanent designs to your ceramics. A total of 15 colours are available and produce a fine to broad brush stroke. Here is how to use them Before decorating, clean thoroughly in the dishwasher and use a detergent or denatured alcohol to remove fingerprints or traces of grease. As you decorate, make sure there are no unnecessary fingerprints underneath the ink as you apply it. Allow to dry for 15 minutes before heating in the oven at 160°C for 25 minutes and then to cool in the oven. Only use the brushpen for decorative purposes. Avoid decorating areas of...

Chest of Drawers for a French Farmhouse

I have a lovely little shop opposite where mine is called The Real Deal in Finnieston and I am always picking up pieces from them. Its too hard not to when I can see all their lovelies from my window!!  As soon as I saw this chest I knew it would scrub up lovely! Once I had wheeled it across the road I knew I was right. No repairs necessary on this one. It sat on my to do list for a while and then I was contacted by a woman who needed furniture for her beautiful French holiday home.
